CHINESE CULTURE DAY

CHINESE CULTURE DAY

It was a great pleasure that all the Chinese ELC students have assisted systematically to set up the event before lunchtime. We used school kitchen to boil the Chinese traditional food dumpling, tangyuan and noodles and brought them all to PAC on time. Everybody participated and contributed their time and effort to help to make sure the event’s success.

At lunch time, local students and some teachers started to emerge and at the same time most food and snake have been consumed rapidly. Everybody seemingly enjoyed those “stange food” except the “stinky tofu” which people complained about the strong smells. To be honest, I expected this kind of bad feedbacks. As in my opinion, the food challenge was mean to challenge people’s taste and the taste crash brought people an understanding and the flavour of other cultures.

Apart from the food and music, the Chinese game would definitely be the highlight of the event which included shuttlecock kicking, chopsticks challenge and cast. Karabo and Cody started the first round of the game which showed an example to others and it was absolutely entertained to watch these two school captains against each others. After, more and more people were interested in joining the game and keeping the atmosphere being lively.

After the event, all the ELC students stayed and help to clean PAC forwardly which is great to see it.

The event was surprisingly successful and everybody seemingly had a great fun at lunch time. I wish we keep set up these sorts of multicultural event as a routine activity in our school and hold it consequently.
