ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

24 students from the year 7 EPP class visited Point Nepean National Park for a special youth-led environmental conference.

The national award-winning Kids Teaching Kids Week highlights how youth across Australia learn from one another and lead change for environmental challenges, while contributing to local and national issues and concerns.

Over 200 students from 12 schools across the Mornington Peninsula came together on Thursday 7th September to explore solutions for global challenges during an innovative environmental youth leadership conference at Point Nepean.

Our Year 7s presented a workshop on “Human Impacts on Natural Environments” at the conference and did an excellent job engaging the other schools.

The Parks Victoria rangers and environmental groups worked with students on the day as they completed an outdoor workshops and presentations in the historical Quarantine Station.

Out students, did a wonderful presentation on the day and it will be good for them to share what they learnt with other students, and return to McClelland with fresh ideas and environmental opportunities as well.
