Year 6 Celebration - Save The Date - 11th December

Each year we have an end of year celebration/awards night for our departing Year 6 students. This year the night will be held in the last week of school on Wednesday the 11th of December starting at 6:30p.m. Due to the success and feedback from last years event, students will again attend a dinner with their class mates and teachers at Pacific Surf Club prior to parents arriving for the formal celebration in the PAC. Further information regarding exact details and cost will be sent out to Yr. 6 parents this week.

Prep's Blokes Night Out- 3rd September

Well it was "Raining Men" recently here at PBSS as our wonderful Preppies led the Special Men in their lives onto the dance floor in the Performing Arts Complex for our annual “Bloke’s Night Out”. Daddies, Dads, Uncles, Grandads, Poppies, and even some Big Brothers were treated to some great dance moves with the “finale” being an exciting “Dance Off” between the Blokes and the kids. Resident DJ Miss Newton had the tunes pumping with Miss Christine, Miss Sarah, Miss Lizzie, Miss Kevi, Mrs Woodley and Miss Sue-Ellen announcing each song and making sure the dance floor was packed.

To the beats the boys whirled, the girls dresses swirled, and the men's special ties twirled. The Limbo and Gangnam Style were definite crowd favourites. The smiles, hugs and laughter told a story of a great night out. Thanks to all the Blokes for putting on their “ties”, their dancing shoes and although it wasn't "Strictly Ballroom" we all agreed it was "Strictly Spectacular".

Term 4 Recreational Sport - Yr. 4 - 6

As you are aware, our Term 4 recreation sport program kicked off last Friday for students in Yr. 4 - 6. Although it was a wet afternoon, students went to their sport groups and were informed about rules for oval games, safety near the water for surfing and tying knots for fishing. This program will continue until week 8 this term.

Footsteps Dance P-6

As you are aware, the Footsteps Dance Program begins this Friday for all students. This is always an exciting and interactive program that enhances our arts curriculum. Footsteps Dance Company has taken the raw form of dance sport and transformed it into a combination of modern music and ‘old fashioned values’. Students will be participating in several different styles of dancing. Not only will students’ level of fitness improve, but also dancing proficiency encourages proper and meaningful social behavior and interaction. Each student’s self confidence in a social environment will gain a major boost as their dance skills improve during the course. If you have not yet paid for this program, please contact the office so your child doesn't miss out.

Learn to Swim Lessons - P-2

They will travel by bus each day to the Miami pool for their 30 minute lesson. Further information regarding cost and lessons times will be sent out this week. Students in Yr. 3 - 6 will participate in the school swimming carnival held in week 9 on Tuesday the 3rd of December. Further information will be sent out closer to the carnival date.
