Meet Our New Staff

Joelle Saugy

I teach Visual Communication, Art and Photography.

When finishing high school, I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue design or teaching. After completing my degree in Communication Design, I decided to explore teaching and enrolled in a graduate diploma. I find teaching to be an enjoyable and stimulating career and much prefer it to sitting stagnant behind a computer screen all day.

At Dromana College, I am interested in encouraging students to incorporate digital media into their creative process, especially with most students now having access to their own devices and the technology portal. Between creative blogs and other social media, I lose hours of my life to the internet continually updating ICT skills. My interests also include Mexican food and any hike with a spectacular view.

Blaire Dobrieki

I teach Maths and Sciences.

I've had various jobs in the field of science research before teaching, but as I love working with people I found myself being drawn to jobs in science communication. I was working in the education department at Melbourne Museum which was very rewarding, but I realised that if I wanted to make a longer lasting impact on someone's understanding of science and maths, teaching at a school was the best way to go. Now I'm able to see my students progress with their learning, instead of seeing them once and never seeing them again.

Science and maths are incredibly awesome and interesting subjects and I'm hoping to convince more students of that. I especially want to reduce the anxiety that a lot of students have around learning mathematics.

My interests are film-making, the 'maker movement', camping and hiking, fostering rescue dogs and constantly learning new things.

Marina Job

I teach Mathematics and Psychology.

I was drawn to teaching as I had an amazing university lecturer that had such a talent of explaining difficult concepts in unusual ways that was very accessible for my learning. I wanted to come to this school as I had heard wonderful things about Dromana College, about the students, teachers and the learning atmosphere. I enjoying dancing, running, and trying new food.
