Assistant Principal's Report
Student Leadership Positions
During next week interviews will be held for the Student Leadership Positions. These positions include College and Vice Captains, House Captains, SRC Presidents and Sport Captains. Each student who applies is required to submit a written application addressing set criterias and the applications must also include a resume. Students then sit through an interview in front of a panel which includes the Assistant Principal. For some students this will be the first time that they have been to an interview and to help them
Ms Laura Frazer has run a lunchtime session to help with their interview techniques. The students will be informed towards the end of next week as to the outcome of these positions.
New Student Leadership Positions
I am very pleased to announce that we will have two Year 9 Junior College Captain positions for 2017. The Junior College Captains will work closely with the College Captains and Vice Captains to help bring a stronger Junior School perspective to the Student Leadership Positons. There will be an Assembly next Friday for Years 7 – 9 students to discuss House Captain Leadership positions and students in Year 8 will be given information as to how they can apply to be a Year 9 Junior College Captain for 2017.
Principal Detentions
This is just a reminder that if students do not complete their lunchtime detention, held on either a Monday or Friday lunchtime for 45 minutes, they will be issued with an after school detention on a Friday commencing 3.15pm – 5.15pm. The lunchtime detentions were put in place to help out those students who are unable to complete a detention after school. However, if a student does not do a lunchtime detention being unable to complete a detention after school will not be accepted as an excuse. Coordinator Detentions are also held at lunchtime for 30 minutes on a Tuesday. If a student does not attend this they are then placed on a Principal Detention. These detentions are entered onto Compass and also appear on the student’s timetable. Students are asked to regularly check Compass to ensure that they don’t end up receiving an After School Detention.
Have a great weekend,
Sharyn Campbell
