Junior Boys AFL
Congratulations to the Year 7 and Year 8 boys football teams who had a very successful day in the Campaspe Round in Rochester recently. Both teams were undefeated on the day and have progressed to the next round, to be played on Tuesday 25 July.
Thank you to the coaches Mr Les Butler, Mr Matt Butler, Mr Stuart Taylor and Mr David Armfield. Special thanks also to our VET student helpers on the day, Harley Reid and Jed Dargan.
Equestrian
One of our Year 7 students, Ava Irwin represented St Joseph's College in the School Sport Victoria Equestrian in Elmore recently.
Ava competed in the intermediate section (Year 7 - Year 9) for dressage and was awarded the overall reserve champion by a very close 5 points for the day! Ava has now qualified for the State Championships to be held in Werribee on April 15-19. We congratulate Ava on her achievements and wish her the very best of luck!
Tennis
The Years 7-12 students had perfect conditions for tennis matches on Monday 3 April.
The Year 9/10 and 11/12 students competed at Echuca College, unfortunately our boys' teams narrowly missed out but congratulations to our Senior Girls (Sienna J, Leila P, Amy P, Annie B and Mia A) and Inter Girls (Maisy B, Abbey S, Georgia M, Evie R and Lila M) teams both heading through to the LMR round in Mildura.
The Year 7 and Year 8 teams played in Kyabram. Our junior students displayed great sportsmanship and battled out every point on the court. Congratulations to the Year 7 Boys (Arley C, Campbell K, Cody R, Judd S and Xavier S) and Year 8 Boys (Jack B, Xavier C, Ben H, Liam B and Hugo M) who are also progressing to the LMR round in Mildura.
The LMR competition will be played in Mildura on Tuesday 2 May. Thank you to the coaches Mrs Roxanne Dicketts, Mr Andrea Romano, Mrs Jenny Sudholz and Mr Mal Dunstan.
State Swimming
We wish the following swimmers who have progressed to the State Swimming Championships the very best of luck!
Nash R and Ayla Mc in individual events and the following students in relay events: Van L, Ryan S, Mitchell S and Oscar C, Emily Mc, Charlotte W, Sophie T and Ruby M.
Upcoming Sport
Senior & Inter Girls/Boys Soccer
Sign ups have taken place and training will begin in week 1 of term 2. The competition will be played in Moama on Monday 8 May.
