School Council President

Welcome to our new Principal
The start of term wasn't just the first day back for our students, it was also the first day of school at ACPS for our new Principal, Mr (Daniel) Webber.
He has been visiting the classrooms and getting to know the students and teachers and greeting parents and carers at pick-up and drop-off times.
If you haven't yet had a chance to meet Daniel, please introduce yourself and say "Hi" next time you are around school. I know he's had a very warm reception so far and is keen to meet as many members of our school community as possible.
School cross country
Although the weather forecast threatened rain, we were blessed with warm temperatures and sunny skies for our school cross country this afternoon.
Our older students ran two laps around Warrandyte Reserve, our middle school students ran a single lap, and our youngest students ran a lap of the oval accompanied by their school buddies and cheered on by the rest of the school (and a good number of parents).
Congratulations to everyone who ran, walked or even skipped today. It was a great way to finish off the first week of term 2.
ANZAC service
On Monday our school came together to honour and remember the sacrifices made by our service men and women during wars, conflicts and peace keeping operations.
Some of our student leaders laid wreathes next to a pine tree grown from a seed from the Lone pine that grows in Gallipoli. It was planted in 2008 and ACPS students have assembled next to it since then to honour the ANZACs who sacrificed so much to allow us to enjoy our way of life.
Thank you to the special guests who attended our service - Don and Zeus, and Lily, Courtney and Candis.
Working bee
We have a school working bee coming up on Sunday May 7 from 9-11am and we look forward to seeing as may families as possible attend.
We will send out more details and a reminder next week, our top priority is usually spreading mulch in the playground areas to maintain the safety standards for our students. We will identify some other jobs around the school that we can complete in two hours.
A light morning tea will be provided at the end of the working bee to thank everyone for helping out.
