Beaufort Primary Parents and Friends NEEDS YOU
Beaufort Primary School Parents and Friends is run by volunteers, we are all parents of current students. We all volunteer our time to organise fundraisers so that the school can have a few of the “extras” and to cut the costs that parents would otherwise have to pay.
Some of the fundraisers we conducted over the year include;
Christmas Raffle
Colour Fun Run
Beaufort Show BBQ
Mother’s and Father’s Day Stall
End of Term BBQs
Calendar advertising Beaufort’s business
And others
Over the last few years, our fundraising was impeded by COVID-19 lockdowns and the restrictions stopping us from being on school grounds. But the year before was a huge fundraising year, as we raised $21,000 to put in a split system air conditioner in each classroom of the school.
Some of the other areas we spend the money raised are:
- Hats for each Prep and new student that starts at the school
- The Life Education Bus featuring Harold
- We donate money towards the cost of each child going on an excursion or camp
- we donate money towards the cost of the bus for Swim/Gym
- We provided an extra $2000 towards the cost of the Grade 5/6 Canberra Camp
- We helped with the cost of the Rebound Wall
- We help with the cost of updating technology
- We also consider any other requests for funds made by teachers and the Principal.
Last year, we were unable to make a committee due to a lack of volunteers and this year we are facing a similar problem. Without a committee, we are unable to organise new or large fundraising events.
We would love to have some new faces at our meetings and at our fundraisers. We understand not everyone has the time to volunteer at our fundraising events, but please consider the next time you receive a fundraising note, that we have worked hard to organise each and every one of these events and we need your help to make them a success.
We also accept other forms of donations in the form of money and goods. At the Beaufort Show BBQ, we are happy to accept donations of food (eg. Bacon, eggs, bread, drinks) or money, and we are happy to accept donations towards our Christmas Raffle prizes as well.
