COVIDsafe Measures

Managing COVID positive cases

Students who report a positive result are recommended to isolate for a minimum of 5 days and not attend school until their symptoms have resolved.

Staff who report a positive result are recommended to isolate for a minimum of 5 days and not attend school during that period.

There is no longer a requirement for principals to inform the school community of a positive case associated with the school.

Rapid Antigen Tests

Students and staff should complete a Rapid Antigen Test if they;

  • Have symptoms of COVID-19 infection, no matter how mild
  • Are a household or close contact of someone who has COVID-19
  • Are a social contact of someone who has COVID-19.

Parents of students should report a positive result to the school, either by phone or written notification on XUNO.

Rapid Antigen Tests are available upon request from the school office.

Face Masks

Staff and students who wish to wear a face mask should be supported to do so, and schools should continue to make face masks available for staff, students and visitors.

The Department of Health recommends that masks should be worn by a person who is a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 when leaving home.

Additionally, the Department of Health recommends that masks should be worn by a person who has COVID-19 for at least 7 days after a positive test when they need to leave home.

From the Principal

Firstly, I would like to thank those parents who helped with the Colour Fun Run at the end of Term 1. I think if you asked any student, they will tell you it is one of their favourite events at school.

Also, many thanks to those students and families who marched with the school and attended the Beaufort ANZAC day service. It truly is a wonderful community service.

Last Friday, students in Years 3 to 6 took part in our House Cross Country. It was wonderful to see so many children participating, with some very quick times recorded on the day. After the event, ribbons were awarded to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in each age group.

Yesterday, Blue House captains were awarded the Annual Cross-Country shield, with a total of 148 points.

We have 17 students who have now qualified to compete at the Division Cross Country. We wish them all the best.

As we roll into Term 2, students have been reminded about our uniform, including wearing the correct school jumper, pants and shoes. We would greatly appreciate parent support with encouraging their child to ensure they are wearing the correct unform to school.  Can parents also make sure school jumpers are named. School hats are not required during Term 2 or 3.

This year, on Friday 12th May, Parents and Friends will be hosting a Mother's Day breakfast, please see the flyer in the Parents and Friends tab of this newsletter.

They are also seeking volunteers to assist with the Mother's Day stall, held on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th May at lunch time. If you are able to assist, please let the school know.
