Grade 1 Students 

The Grade 1s have been unpacking narratives during reading and writing sessions. We are now having a go at writing our own version of traditional fairy tales. This week we are basing our writing on The Three Little Pigs – we can’t wait to share our books with you.

During Maths lessons, we have begun our unit on addition and looking at different strategies such as counting on, using the ‘think big, count small’ strategy. We have also been doing some work on all the different ways we can make the same number. 

Lastly, just like the rest of the school, we participated in the Wanyara Incursion – we played Indigenous games, learnt traditional stories and painted some Indigenous symbols. Did you know that Wanyara means ‘active’?
