SAKG

This week in SAKG:

Garden

Despite experiencing four seasons in one day, we had an incredibly productive day in the garden on Wednesday. The sun was shining in the morning as we harvested Jerusalem artichoke rhizomes from deep in the soil. We learned that a rhizome is an enlarged root where a plant stores energy for growth. The energy is in the form of starches and carbohydrates which make them a tasty meal too!

Soup Wednesdays at the Mini Market

Each week at Mini Market we will be serving a delicious and healthy homemade soup. We will serve a variety of soups throughout the term that will be made using fresh ingredients from our school veggie garden. Soups are $3 each and we encourage you to bring your own mug/keep cup and spoon to help reduce waste.

It’s also worth noting that we sold out on our first week so be sure to get in early!
