Performing Arts

This week in Performing Arts:

The Foundation to Grade 2 students have made a fantastic start to Term 2, looking refreshed and eager from a well earned break. We explored our favourite musical experiences while playing a game called 'Hot Potato' which yielded some fantastic insights into how music impacts our lives.

The Mystery song is always a hit, and the students had to guess what Mr Jared was playing on his guitar... Who knew Ed Sheeran songs were so easy to get!

Rhythm is the backbone of all music, and we had a look at simple time signatures using a bar of 4 beats. If you can count to 4, you can definitely understand the fundamentals of music. We also spent plenty of time responding and moving to music. This meant that we could explore how tempo, dynamics and feel impact how we perceive music. All of the students (particularly the Foundies) are exceptional dancers!

Looking forward to the coming weeks where we explore music and colour!
