Firefighters Come To visit The Preps

On Wednesday 26 April we were lucky to have Grant and Mick the firefighters come to teach us about fire safety. We got to see all of the gear firefighters wear when they are fighting fires and Mick even put on all of his firefighting clothes and equipment. 

We also learnt about how we can ensure fires are safe and different situations and actions which can make fire dangerous. We spoke about how important it is to have a safe place outside to go to in case there is a fire or emergency at home.

Resilience Project 

At Beaumaris North Primary School, we use The Resilience Project program, which provides lessons and teaches strategies to build resilience in children through gratitude, empathy and mindfulness.  

The Preps have thoroughly enjoyed completing activities in their Resilience Project Journals so far this year. This week we discussed being a 'good helper', how it made you feel and how it made the other person feel. 

The Preps came up with some lovely ideas how they could help Mum and Dad at home and how they could help their teacher and friends at school.
