Dear Families,
What an amazing first term we have had! Thankyou all for the great support and involvement you have shown these past ten weeks. So much has happened that it is difficult to capture in just a few words, but looking back over the Term 1 calendar reminds me of how much learning, celebrating, exploring, playing and sharing has happened each and every day. All of this was highlighted yesterday when we held our Learning Expo. Even then it was impossible to showcase everything that has been covered in each of the curriculum areas and so students and teachers had to choose a snapshot of learning to present. Congratulations to all our incredible teachers and children for the preparation and presentation of this term's learning. I have included below a small sample of the Learning Expo for those who were unfortunately not able to attend.
FETE
They say a picture paints a thousand words so rather than write them, here are a few amazing pictures taken on Fete day by Issey (Hanna's Dad) thanks again for the great memories and thanks to all who made this such an incredible success. As we said from the start fundraising was not our major focus this time but we still managed to raise nearly $10 000 which will go towards much needed resources for our children.
Looking ahead Term 2
As you would know we have an unusual start to Term 2 with the ANZAC Day holiday on Tuesday 25th April. We will, however, still start back at school on Monday 24th April for one day then back to normal from Wednesday 26th April. Next term will also be a busy one with swimming on top of all the usual learning activities each week.
Soccer & Basketball Clinics
Our soccer and basketball clinics have been a great success in Term 1 and we are looking forward to them once again in Term 2. Please ask at the office for more information.
NCCD - (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) On School Students with Disability)
What is the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data?
Schools must now complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) every year. It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disability. Please look over the attached documents for further information in regard to the NCCD. I have also included a version in Vietnamese for your information.
Holy Thursday
Holy Thursday is the beginning of the most sacred days of the liturgical calendar, known as the Paschal Triduum: The Mass of the Lord's Supper, Good Friday of the Lord's Passion, and the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord.
Prayer: Thanksgiving for Holy Thursday
You gave Your life to us, like the bread on the table you broke into pieces and shared.
Now anyone who holds out their hand and heart can receive it and feed.
You gave Your life to us, like the wine You poured in the cup and shared.
Now anyone who offers their lips can drink and rejoice.
You gave us everything, O Lord Jesus, and you offered your life like bread and wine.
Now the entire world can taste the love of God You shared freely with all the children of the earth!
Here we are, O Lord, holding out our hands and hearts!“
Community Calendar - Keep up with our important dates!
Wishing you all a Happy, Holy Easter and all our children a wonderful two weeks break. See you all next term.
Kind Regards
