From Garden
to Plate
It is so nice to be back here at Sacred Heart. We had such a
lovely day on Wednesday being back in our kitchen and our garden.
Our Grade 1/2s were so excited to be in the kitchen for their first time.
We went to the garden to pick some silver beet and parsley
to make some silver beet and ricotta triangles. Everyone joined in on all the fun!
Once the triangles were made we sat down and ate them all togther. I was so thrilled that the students tried them and actually enjoyed eating silverbeet.
Our grade 3/4s had a great time in their first garden session. the weather wasn't very nice to us but we made the most of it inside. We Read a story called Seed School and looked at a variety of seeds. We discovered that seeds are all different in appearance and size.
We were able to go out into the garden rfor a short while to see what it has to offer. Our Garden Board is now filled with pictures and a list of what we have growing currently!
Till next Fortnight!
