Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart School Community,

I hope you have all had a great week, and were able to make use of the beautiful weather last weekend. Winter is just around the corner so warm sunny days will become even more precious in the coming months.

Prayer (It's never too late to remember our ANZACS)

Mother's Day

In preparation for our traditional Mother's Day Stall, our hard working Parents and Friends Group have had a couple of working bees wrapping and preparing gifts. The Mother's Day Stall will take place next Friday 12th May. The stall is a great opportunity for our students to buy a gift. Further information will be sent home early next week.

Refreshments After Mass On Mother's Day

After 10.30 Mass on Sunday 14th May, we will have our regular school and parish provided refreshments in our school multi purpose room. This occasion is our schools turn to organise. We have had regular helpers from our school each time we have provided refreshments, and welcome the assistance of any more parents who would like to help.

Thank You Sheen and Hansvi

Whilst celebrating and thanking our community in a previous newsletter, for the money raised for Caritas during the season of Lent, I need to acknowledge the great role our two student leaders Sheen and Hansvi played in organising the fundraising. Well done to you both on great organisational skills.

Family Week

As detailed in Kate's section of this newsletter, we are celebrating Family Week with some activities on Thursday 18th May. The invitation is extended to all our familiesto come join us during part of this day as we celebrate the joy that is family life. Please see Kate's section in this newsletter.

School Closure Day

Please be aware and as indicated in last week's newsletter, our School Closure day for staff professional development this term will take place on Tuesday 16th May. I have contacted our After School Care Provider requesting they provide their service on this day.

After School Care Gate Access

As indicated in last week's newsletter, to ensure the continued safety of our students, parents and guardians will now collect their children from After School Care by accessing the school from the middle gate. The main gate leading to our school building entrance will be locked by the teacher on after school duty when their duty is finished.

School Photos

It was a busy day today with our school photos being taken. I am sure the results will be fantastic as we eagerly await the arrival of the class, family and individual photos from the photographic company in the coming weeks.

Yours Sincerely

Mark Tierney
