Uniform and Grooming

Thank you for the considerable efforts that were made earlier this month regarding uniform and grooming. Now that examinations are over and Years 11 and 12 students have returned to school, it is important that we continue this focus. In particular, we ask that staff, students and parents pay attention to these areas:

  • blazers are required up until Recess each day and on the way home from school
  • students are permitted to wear a simple pair of gold or silver stud (or sleeper) earrings, a watch and/or a simple metallic neck chain with a Christian symbol
  • boys’ shirts should be tucked in and a simple black belt worn
  • hair should be neat and tidy and consistent with the College Uniform Code in both length and style.

Use of change rooms, particularly when we have large numbers of students needing to change at the same time, continues to be difficult. As a result, students are still permitted to wear Sport Uniform on the days they have Physical Education classes. This does make it slightly more difficult to monitor uniform. With this in mind, we ask that everyone makes a particular effort with this important aspect of College life.

Year 11 News - Id Quod Volo

On Monday all Year 11 students were involved in Id Quod Volo (the Ignatian phrase ‘That which I desire’) which is a day set aside for students to explore and develop leadership particularly in their House context. It is also a day we open applications for the more formal leadership roles in the Student Representative Council in Year 12. As students were not able to go off site, the House Coordinators organised a series of sessions for the students, which included the running of the Cross-Country.

Emerging Entrepreneurs in Year 8 Economics and Business (HASS)

With the current changes to the way people are working as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a relevant time for Year 8 students to investigate how the world of work is changing. Innovation and improvement in technology is playing a major role in influencing our working environments and hours of work. Technology has also changed the way in which a business operates. In the current day and age, an online presence is vital to the success of any business.

As emerging entrepreneurs, our Year 8 Economics and Business students have been investigating how a business can capitalise on opportunities in the market. Students have been developing their marketing skills by creating a professional and engaging website for their own fictional business in the food industry. The websites produced were truly ‘mouth watering’. Please click on the links below to view some of the most outstanding websites:
