STUDENT REMOTE LEARNING

Year 10 Remote Learning

Online remote learning has been a varying time for many, and we as teachers are fully understanding of that. Some have found this time away from school refreshing and allowed them to work in ways that better suit their learning style. Others have found it a struggle and really difficult to stay motivated and keep up to date with the workload. Either way, we all must use this as an opportunity to learn.

Personally, I was able to spend quality time with my new son who was born 5 weeks ago, which was a real bonus for me during remote learning. I would like to thank my Year 10 mentor teachers, who have been a great support during this time. The mentor system has been critical in supporting our students, and we will continue to adapt and move forward using this process.

Finally, a huge thanks and congratulations to the job our parents have done in supporting and assisting their children during this time.

Some of our Year 10 leaders have shared their experiences over the online remote learning time.

I am certainly excited to go back full time, at the moment I’ve only been able to return to school for my Year 11 subject and to help out in the kitchen. It will be great to see friends and teachers face to face, though I know we won't go back to normal straight away. Isolation has had it’s ups and downs, but I’ve enjoyed it over all - working on my own schedule has been great. Looking forward to working together again.

Hope everyone is managing at home and not missing everything too much. I’m excited to return back to school full time but have had the chance to go back twice now, once for VET Sport and Rec and also to help in the kitchen. I don’t feel anxious as it is going to be good to be out of the house and back in the school environment. I've been enjoying working from home as it has allowed me to work at my own pace and have my own schedule every week but it will be good to return to the regularity of school, as well as sports returning soon.

Hope everyone's well and doing okay. I am certainly excited to go back to school, I've liked remote learning and doing subjects at any time and having breaks anytime I need. Can't wait to see everyone again, it's been a long time within the social distancing measures and of course i'm look forward to our next meeting, also seeing everyone learning and becoming closer again .. see you at the next meeting or at school.

I’m pretty over the online schooling at this point, personally it’s not the way of learning that I think is most beneficial for myself but I’m sure that answer would vary a lot. I’m looking forward to returning back to school and getting to see everyone again.

I have been doing pretty well over the isolation period, if anything I’ve been enjoying the change, mainly the fact that I get to decide when and for how long I do certain types of work, as I haven’t set any times for myself for when I am supposed to be doing a certain subject, and I think this has helped me to remain calm and collected, and may have even helped with the amount of work I have been completing. Due to this I am not exactly 'excited' to go back to school, but I’m all good with it. I’ll definitely enjoy seeing my friends again and being able to interact with people again - within the social distancing measures of course… I look forward to our next meeting!

I hope everyone is doing well and coping with these new circumstances well. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends again at school and having a separation between my school life and my home life again. I've enjoyed being able to do whatever you want whenever i want just as long as I get everything in on time. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
