Aspire Higher

VCE students looking to push their academic limits attended the launch for the Aspire Higher program on Monday 27th of February. The students were lucky enough to have former students Annabelle Walker and Taylah Simpson as guest speakers, who discussed what made them such successful VCE students.

Annabelle graduated from McClelland College in 2022 after achieving outstanding results, playing her part on SRC and as a College Vice Captain, and is now studying primary teaching at Monash University.

Taylah was Dux in her final year at the College and has started working as a physiotherapist at Peninsula Health after graduating from university last year.

Taylah and Annabelle continue to demonstrate the college value of community, kindly giving up their time to address the 2023 Aspire Higher students.

Staff vs Student 2023

The students have kicked off the year very well, taking an early 2-1 lead after a narrow win in Pictionary. The students trailed for much of the game before miraculously tying up the score just before the bell. A tie breaker was required with chief judge Mr Hemsley drawing the final image for both sides to guess, which the students just pipped the staff for.

The staff team can quickly get even with events this term including basketball, swimming relay and water polo at the whole school swimming carnival and European handball in the final week of term.
