Senior School

Years 11 & 12

YR 12

On Friday February 17th, the Year 12 Formal was held at San Remo Ballroom in Nicholson Street, Carlton. Despite the limited planning time, the event was a great success with all students, their guests and staff enjoying the night. The success of the night was primarily because of the supreme organisational skills of the 2023 Student Leadership Team. The evening was a wonderful opportunity for the Year 12 students to let their hair down and celebrate a successful start to not only a very busy term, but what will be a huge year for them.

What a memorable night! The students were dressed immaculately and I was very proud of the positive attitude and excitement towards the event. There were numerous awards during the evening, some of which were voted on by the students prior to the night and some that were awarded to students as a result of Mr. DeCata and Ms. Vajda’s impeccable judging skills on the night.  Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity for students from different groups to interact with each other and enjoy an environment outside of the classroom. With Student Leaders Mia Fragomeni and Ella Dale as MCs for the evening, everything ran like clockwork.

A Year 12 Formal does not go smoothly without the support of many who give up their time. Firstly, thank you to the Senior Student Leadership Team for their input regarding the running of the evening, particularly Mia Fragomeni, Ella Dale, Grace McKinnis, Gemma Napolitano and Alyssa Cabral, whose planning and attention to detail ensured all went to plan. Thank you also to Mr. Di Camillo, Ms. Neil and all the staff who supported the evening with their attendance. A special thank you must also go to Mrs Kerri Ruff who was so efficient in organising the tables, the Trybooking system and printing out the tickets and the numerous awards. Without her help, the night would not have run so smoothly.

Well done and congratulations on a great start to the year Year 12 students!

YR 11

The students had a wonderful day at Holy Cross Centre - Templestowe, hosted by the Youth Mission Team. Following some Ice-Breaker activities student volunteers helped act out a friendship’s scene, which emphasised each person’s uniqueness. Another drama activity emphasised the impact of our words and behaviours on our own and other’s self-worth. Students participated in small group reflection – sharing some information about themselves and discussing their opinions on key issues. The final session invited students to light a candle and say a prayer, to enhance their connection and support from God.
