Principal's Report

Dear Families,

I hope you all enjoyed the extra-long weekend and students return for the last month of Term One with renewed energy and focus!

Numeracy Curriculum Focus

Our Curriculum Day was a wonderful opportunity for our teachers to work with Maths Consultant, Michael Minas, with a focus on Problem Solving and Differentiation (meeting individual student needs). Some of your children may have even come home on Wednesday afternoon having had Mr Minas taking a lesson in their class! I am very much looking forward to the ongoing development of our Numeracy Teaching Practices, and ultimately, seeing continued improvement in our student outcomes in Maths.

School Council

As per my Compass posts last week regarding School Council, we now have a fully formed Council made up of the following people:

Parent Representatives

Staff

Scott Kittlety

Sarah Ruddick

Peter Tonkin

Emily Tong

Sarah Bennett

Megan Good

Megan Nestor

Anthony Axford

Bree Gibson

David Garner - Principal

Kim Carey- Assistant Principal

Fiona Jenkins – Business Manager

Kelly McLennan - Teacher

Emma Sharples – Education Support

Again, a big thank you to those parents who took the time to partake in the ballot, and of course to all parents and staff members who nominated to be a part of our dynamic School Council at BNPS!

Senior Athletics

Last week saw a fabulous exhibition of effort and sportsmanship as our Year 3 to 6 students headed to Llanberris Reserve for the Senior School Athletics Sports. It really was such a positive experience, all made possible by our fantastic staff, parent volunteers and Ballarat High School sport students. A big congratulations to Hender, the winning house on the day.

Until I see you in person,

David
