Australian Ballet Visit
On Wednesday the 22nd of February students in Years 4-6 were visited by the Australian Ballet. Students participated in a workshop where they learnt about how to choreograph a dance using dance elements. They started the lesson learning about safe dance practices, learnt a few ballet terms jete (meaning to throw), glissade (to glide). The worked-on movement in space levels and repetition in movement. At the end of the day the Year 3 students joined us for a short performance of Romeo and Juliet. They were able to see some of the skills that they learnt in class into the performance. We cannot thank the Australian Ballet enough for coming out to Oakleigh Primary School and giving us the opportunity to develop new skills and give us the chance to see live theatre.
