Year 8 Science

Year 8 Science students have been investigating cells and their organelles as part of their Biology unit. Organelles are the tiny units found within a cell that help it to perform it’s special function; there are lots of them and they all seem to have big and confusing names! For example, Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum!

To help develop our understanding, the students have started creating a “cell-fie” where they are researching a specialised cell, such as a red blood cell or a neuron and explaining how its structure suits its function.

If you would like to know more about cells and their organelles, why not read the article link below, or ask a Year 8 student!
