The mid way point of Term 2 is nearly here and the cold weather has certainly arrived, reminding families that all students need to be in full school uniform. The Uniform Shop is fully stocked and orders can be made onlinefor collection or bought directly on Monday 8:15am - 9:15am and Wednesday 3:00pm - 4:00pm.

Our Year 4/5 have had the opportunity of attending camp to Port Hughes over the past three days. As we would all be aware camp is an unbelievable experience that provides opportunities for students to connect in a new environment, challenge  themselves and undertake activities that they may not have the opportunity to do before.

Our teachers spend a lot of time making this happen and their key role during camp is to ensure students have the best possible experience. Please understand that teachers will post updates about camp when they have the time and also coverage. As you would understand time can be quite limited as the days are action packed and long. We appreciate everyones understanding with this situation and please rest assured that if there are any concerns while on camp parents will be contacted.

NAPLAN

Over the past two weeks  Year 3 ,5 and 7 have undertaken NAPLAN. Congratulations to all these students who have been resilient and put in a huge effort. NAPLAN Reports will student results will be distributed to families in September.

National Volunteer Week and Education Support Personnel Day

This week is National Volunteer Week and also Education Support Personnel Day over the weekend.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for the value that they add to our wonderful school and we look forward to having you involved with the school again in the near future.

To our support workers, thank you for working closely with our educators to support classroom learning, for providing the one-on-one support that some of our students so desperately need, for managing the front office and all administration  so effectively and for keeping our schools safe, clean, well maintained and welcoming places to be.

ThankED

Late last year the Department for Education launched a new recognition program, ThankED. ThankED encourages recognition on a more frequent basis at the local level by giving everyone the chance to celebrate and thank public educators who make a difference every day, as well as those people who work in support of them.

So far over 2,200 ThankED messages have been received by department staff, expressing how much they’re valued and appreciated.  LNPS staff have received over 100 ThankED messages since the program was introduced. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to thank our staff.

ThankED gives you the chance to celebrate and thank public educators who make a difference every day, as well as those people who work in support of them. Consider thanking a Lockleys North  Primary School staff member here:
