Term 2 Week 4 PBIS Report

New blitz “Playing games safely”

Whether you are outside or inside playing games, we all need to ensure that we are being safe.

When you are playing games such as football out on the oval, you need to know the rules to follow - Grade prep to 4 cannot tackle - 5 taps and that is holding the ball.  Only Grade 5/6 students can tackle when they have an adult umpire.

Watch out for a new clip coming out this week.

Term 2 Week 5 PBIS Report

Our current blitz is “Playing games Safely”

Being Safe is one of our core PBIS rules at St Mary’s.

When we are playing games outside, the expectation is that we are playing safe.  Have a look at these examples of how you can be safe when playing games.

Slide 1:

Down ball: The expectation is that you are lining up and waiting for your turn to enter the game.  Keep your hands to yourself - have some space when lining up.

Slide 2:

Football:  The expectation is that you play by the school rules - 5 taps is holding the ball.  You give the ball to the opposition straight away if you have been caught with the ball.

Slide 3:

Sandpit: The expectation when playing in the sandpit is that you are digging and building in a way that won’t hurt others.

Slide 4:

Playground:  The expectation when playing on the playground is that you line up for the flying fox.  You also need to take it in turns and wait to use the equipment.

Keep up the great work everyone!!

PBIS Student Award

Our PBIS student of the Week comes from the Prep area.

Mrs Cox and Mrs Davkovski think that this student always makes sure everyone has someone to play with when outside and playing inside games. This student asks others to join in when they have no-one to play with and she makes sure that others are following the PBIS rules of our school at all times. Well done Menley!!!!

Congratulations Menley Corrish-Zito, you are our PBIS Student of the Week!!
