Semester two projects - Design Technology

As students start projects for Semester 2, I'd like to share some that were completed in semester one.

Under the guidance of Mr. Naidoo, the Year 8 students designed and built an Occasional Table. By developing their skills with the laser cutter students were able to use a wider variety of shapes that would not be available to them if more traditional methods of woodworking were used. It also meant that students were able to tailor their designs to their more specific tastes.

Building on the skills they learnt last year, the Year 9s used their skills to design and make a Floating Table. These tables rely on strategically placed chains to hold the top and base together with the two, once completed, never actually touching. 

Again, these tables were made under the guidance of Mr. Naidoo.
