Donne-moi des ailes !  

Spread your wings! 

On Friday all our Year 7s learning French watched a movie called ‘Spread Your Wings’. It was a French spoken movie with English subtitles. The movie told a story about a fourteen year old boy who is sent into the country to live with his dad for three weeks. His dad introduces him to an idea. 

The dad wants to guide geese on a new flight path, as their current one is too dangerous and geese keep disappearing. Thomas is reluctant at first, but then he joins his dad in a journey to save geese from extinction. But halfway through their trip, Thomas realises that his dad forged a signature on important papers, so they didn’t have access to go through the border. Thomas takes the geese without anyone knowing and leads them along their new flight path, saving the species. 

Watching the movie was a good idea, as it let the Year  take a break from their normal classes and relax, whilst still learning a subject. Most of the classes enjoyed it, and it was a great experience to watch a French movie.
