French update

Madame Emily

Our Preps have been learning how to count to 12 in French and how to say how old they are. This amazing birthday cake was created by Noah. Doesn't it look délicieux?

Year 1 have been making their ‘dream’ lunchboxes and learning to label their ideal lunch items in French. We love Liv’s design!

Our Year 2 students have been creating Pokémon cards to describe who is in their families. These look awesome Kate, Olivia and Mia!

Year 3 designed their very own backpacks as we have been learning the words in French for stationery supplies. Check out their creative designs!

Year 4 created 'Guess Who?' posters to describe someone from Year 4. Can you translate any of the clues?

Year 5 have been working on their research and map skills to plan a world tour of French-speaking countries. Chuck’s sentences show which mode of transport he will use to travel between locations and Sophie has mapped out her route very clearly.

Year 6 are in the process of designing an itinerary for a 3-day visit to Paris. In this project, students have been learning how to conjugate verbs with personal pronouns. We love the effort Minya is putting into her tourist brochure and are looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Berthe Mouchette French Poetry Competition

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Berthe Mouchette French Poetry Competition. Monsieur Paul and Madame Emily were impressed with your dedication in learning your poems and rehearsing with us at lunchtime. We have high hopes for some more finalists this year!

The results will be announced by 14th July and the finals will be held online via Zoom on Sunday 20th August.

Bastille Day – Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce that PMPS will be celebrating Bastille Day on Thursday 20th July (Week 2 of Term 3). The day will be filled with French food, crafts, sports and film activities. Everyone is invited to dress up in French-inspired costumes which can be as simple as wearing bleu, blanc or rouge (blue, white or red). Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation to support the valuable work of Médécins Sans Frontières (MSF). MSF translates to Doctors without Borders, which provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare.
