Year 1 - Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne

On Thursday 20th July, our Year 1 students and teachers risked the weather to head into the Royal Botanic Gardens. What a fabulous day we had! From learning about the necessity of worms for breaking down plant life to the pollination of bees that is needed for our fruit and vegetables to grow, we learnt lots to help us in our biological inquiry unit on living things and how they grow. Besides that, we had great fun in giant piles of leaves and rolling down the soft, green grass on the beautiful hills we found there. The children had a ball and the grown-ups enjoyed not getting wet! Thank you to our fabulous parents who joined us - we could not do these excursions without you!
