From the Principal
It has been so pleasing to see our students begin the new term with such a positive attitude, both in the classroom and out in the playground. It is important that at home and school, we have the highest possible expectations around learning and behaviour. As we move into the second half of the year all our staff will continue to plan and deliver a curriculum that meets the learning needs for students. We have a clear approach to the management of student behaviour in the classroom and out in the playground. Staff will continue to prioritise maintaining and building positive relationships with both students and parents. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of having positive partnerships between home and school. These partnerships definitely impact on your child and their learning.
NAPLAN
On Monday, our Grade 3 and 5 parents will receive their child's NAPLAN report that was completed earlier in the year.
Earlier in the week, we have been able to access our school's initial 2023 NAPLAN data. You may have read in different media outlets, this year there has been a change with how NAPLAN results are reported. Instead of NAPLAN results being reported in 'bands', it will now be done using a proficiency scale:
- Exceeding
- Strong
- Developing
- Needs Additional Support
Our 2023 NAPLAN results indicate that students at Langwarrin Park Primary School have performed exceptionally well across all NAPLAN areas (Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Spelling and Grammar and Punctuation). Our school NAPLAN results are compared with others schools (Similar and Network) by the percentage of our students who are achieving in the Strong and Exceeding proficiency levels. Below is a table that shows our 2023 NAPLAN data in comparison to our Similar and Network Schools.

As you can see with have achieved some wonderful results. This is a reflection of the work all our teachers and support staff have done over the last 12 months in their classrooms.
Our school leadership team will spend a considerable amount of time to analyse the different NAPLAN data reports that are provided. Then, a range of interventions will be put into place to further support all our students.
