Year 7 Camp

The Wellbeing team attended Year 7 Camp this year, and got to support the cohort in adventurous activities, making new friends, and getting out of their comfort zones. Despite the freezing weather, everyone had a great time!

HPSC's Year 5 Taster Days

In week 8 this term, HPSC opened its doors to over 400 local Year 5 students to show the community what we have on offer! The Wellbeing team hosted some of the popular lunchtime activities here at the college, getting the primary school students involved in Mindfulness, Lego Club, and sports activities. The students and staff had a great time; check out some of their masterpieces!

Rainbow Collective

At HPSC each Tuesday lunchtime our LGBQTA+ students come together in a safe space to hang out and make connections with other students. This term our students enjoyed spending time with each other and doing craft activities.

Students created dreamcatchers , did knitting , drawing , colouring in , played games and lots more. All students who identify as LGBQTIA+ or those who are allies are welcome to attend each Tuesday lunchtime.

Sporting Change

This term students in years 8 – 10 took part in our sporting change program , each Tuesday after school students have the opportunity to participate in free sports through the Springvale Monash Legal service.

This term some of the sports we played included volleyball , soccer, basketball , and table tennis.

All students in years 8 – 10 are welcome to come along , play sports , have a good time and even get snacks!

The MERLE Program at HPSC

HPSC has had another successful term of hosting South East Community Link’s MERLE program!

MERLE is an Australian Government – funded program, focused on engaging and empowering young people in developing leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Over the past 11 weeks, HPSC has had another group of Year 8s, 9s, and 10s engage with the program, where students gained resilience, learned healthy coping strategies, positive engagement with the community, self-care strategies, and more. The points earned by the students by working together, demonstrating leadership and active listening, and showing personal growth throughout the program, earned the team a celebratory feast for this term’s final session. A huge thank you to Tyson from SECL for bringing MERLE to HPSC this term!
