I wish to thank our hardworking staff for their commitment, passion, and resilience. In the face of ever-evolving circumstances, many staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that our students continue to receive high quality learning.
To our students, I extend my acknowledgment of your determination, resilience, and adaptability throughout the term. Many students have shown high levels of maturity, hard work and commitment to your learning. Whether you have achieved academic excellence, made breakthroughs in extracurricular activities, or demonstrated acts of kindness and compassion within our community, these achievements are a testament to your potential. We are immensely proud of each and every one of you, who have worked hard to be the best that you can be.
Attendance
A common characteristic of high performing students is strong attendance. Absence can create gaps in learning, disadvantaging students as they fall behind.
I am pleased to report that many students are maintaining high level of attendance. This week, we held a celebratory gathering to recognise excellent attendance. Maintaining an attendance of 95% or better, is an important requirement of VCE.
I wish to congratulate all students who are currently achieving an attendance of 95% or better. Keep up this excellent work.
Clubs
I am pleased to report that the following Clubs have run during lunchtime for students.
Did you know that students can join one of the following Clubs that operate at lunchtime?
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Chess
- Drama
- Maths/Physics 40+
- Robotics
- Equine
Some Curriculum changes for 2024.
As we continue to evolve as and strive for improvement, we are refining some of our structures. From 2024, students in Year 10 will be become part of our Excel Program for senior students. This will mean that generally our Year 10 students will be a stand-alone program. Eligible accelerating students from the Enhance Program may engage in Year 10 subjects. Year 10 student who are accelerating can still access VCE subjects. These changes are designed to raise expectations and better prepare students for VCE.
Course Counselling-
- It is important for students and parents to read the 2024 subject Handbook to consider subject and course options. This prior reading and thinking will support an efficient use of time and smart subject choices. For VCE students we support ‘access for success.’ We empower students to make subject choices, the confirmed selections are made with our course counsellors. We have a strong moral imperative for all students to achieve success. Course Counselling dates -Term 3

In recent years, a lot has changed at HPSC with many new and exciting learning opportunities and new spaces with building upgrades. Grade 5 tasters provided an opportunity Students from Hampton Park P.S, River Gum P.S, Lynbrook P.S, Coral Park P.S and Kilberry Valley P.S. to see first-hand our college and to participate in many activities including STEAM tasks, building- a chariot, a catapult, Performing art activities such as drama, visiting the music rooms, Visual Arts and much more!
As we look ahead to the coming term, we remain committed to providing the best possible educational experiences for our students. We will continue to strive to improve our school and learning outcomes for students.
I would also like to express our gratitude to the parents and guardians who have been an invaluable pillar of support. Your support of our school, engagement, and involvement in your children's education are most appreciated.
Wishing all students, and staff a safe and restful break. Term 3 commences on Monday 10th July.
