Catholic Identity and Mission

I would like to welcome everyone to the new term.  It certainly isn't the start we were all expecting but like always we simply do our best and make the best of the situation.

To begin the new year our school will adopt the theme of Love and Light.  Through this theme we look for the love of Jesus to lighten our days and help us be the light for others in our  lives.

The children were offered this prayer today and  ask we all try and use our gifts to make the school a happy and safe place for all.

God of love and light, your Son Jesus shows us how to be peacemakers in our words and deeds. Help us to respect one another, to see each other as equals, to be patient, fair and understanding and to look for peaceful ways to solve our problems. Let us come to                St Gabriel’s School this year committed to be faith-filled heart people, who value relationships, pursue excellence in learning, living the Gospel message of love.

Amen

The St Gabriel's school community extends prayers and good wishes to the people of Tonga who are still recovering from the recent unexpected volcanic eruptions.

Our neighbours in the north of the state are also recovering from, or are in the midst of, dramatic flooding.  We pray everyone receives the help they require and are able to continue with their lives as soon as possible.
