We pray for... all students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, and for all Year 12 students, in particular, the McCarthy Catholic College students as they sit the HSC

ST NICHOLAS FEAST DAY - WHOLE SCHOOL MASS-END OF YEAR AWARDS

This year our End of Year Mass will be on Monday 6th December. This Mass will be a Whole School Mass beginning at 9.30am with ALL students to be dressed in full summer uniform. 

 

Unfortunately, due to restrictions, there will be limits as to the numbers of parents and friends that are able to join us here at school. We will be extending an invitation to the Yr 6 parents. Due to current restrictions, it is only the parents of these children that will be able to attend and both parents will need to be fully vaccinated. We will be providing a recording of the Mass and award presentation for parents to view if they are unable to attend. At this Mass, we will formally acknowledge and farewell our Year 6 students as well as present our annual awards.

CHRISTMAS JOY - MUFTI DAY

On Friday 10th December we will be having a 'Christmas Joy' Mufti Day to support the St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal. Students are asked to bring in a gold coin donation. Students will be allowed to wear Christmas coloured clothing, Christmas shirt, tinsel in hair etc. (no coloured hair spray). Hat and enclosed shoes are essential.

CONFIRMATION - (Year 6)

The Sacrament of Confirmation has been rescheduled for the weekend of 27th and 28th November 2021.

 

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred at St Nicholas Church by Bishop Michael Kennedy at three scheduled Masses; Saturday 27th November at 6pm, Sunday 28th November at 7.30am and 9.30am. Candidates and their families will attend one of the specified Masses according to their surname. A note confirming the Mass date/time for each candidate has been sent out. Please return the purple sheet as soon as possible.

 

Reconciliation 

All Confirmation Candidates need to make a good confession prior to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Therefore: all Candidates (accompanied by 1 parent/carer) are asked to attend Reconciliation this evening Thursday 18th November at St Nicholas Church

There will be 2 sessions to accommodate restrictions. 

  • 1st Session will be at 5.30pm- 6.30pm for the Candidates with surname A-K 
  • 2nd Session will be at 6.30pm - 7.30pm for Candidates with surname L-Z 

If candidates cannot attend Reconciliation on Thursday 18th November they will need to attend Parish Reconciliation on Saturday 27th November between 4pm-5pm.

 

When you arrive for Reconciliation follow the Sacramental Team members directions. Please enter via the transept doors at either side of the Church (the front doors will be closed), QR code in and fill the Church from the front adhering to social distancing regulations. Masks also need to be worn inside the church. Candidates are asked to wear smart casual clothing

 

The structure of this Communal Reconciliation begins with a hymn, followed by a welcome, readings, examination of conscience, prayer and then individual confession and absolution. After prayers of penance and the lighting of a candle, candidates and their families are free to leave the church via the back doors.
