YEAR OF ST JOSEPH
As part of French Day celebrations, the Annual Great Snail Race of 2021 was held on the quadrangle during eating time today. The race was very exciting, with 5/6 B's speedy escargot taking out the win in the time of 4.09minutes. All snails were retired to the Garden of Eatin' for a well earned rest. We wish to thank the snails for their efforts and to the trainers. Thank you to Mme Gatehouse for another fabulous French Day extravaganza!!
As we venture into the period of being able to have parents onsite, we are encouraging families to ensure they have a reliable and widely accepted way of showing you are double vaccinated.
Entry to the school buildings and ground are conditional to the State Government current requirements, that all visitors over the age of 12yrs and 2 months are double vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be required upon entry. Current enrolled students at St Laurence's Primary school are exempt from this.
The Service Victoria app is one way that this can be achieved. If you wish to come to the office, pick up your child from the sick bay, attend a Community Mass or any other special occasion onsite, this will be the easy way to show your vaccination status, and help to make a smooth registration process. This is the same way you would if you were to go to a restaurant or theatre or most stores right now.
The school asks that all parents and friends of the school to please be respectful of our staff and the processes we have been asked to follow.

Christmas should be a time of sharing and celebration, but for too many it is a time of hunger, stress and hardship. With the support of the community, St Vincent de Paul Society will be able to deliver hampers full of food, gifts and vouchers to help cover the necessities over the Christmas holiday season.
In support of St Vinnies, we are asking families to donate a Christmas item/non perishable Christmas food item. Please ensure the used by or best before date is relevant (at least 4-6 months). Your donation will contribute to providing food for a family to get them through a crisis and ensure they don’t go hungry.
There are baskets in each of the classrooms for the Christmas item/s to be put in. Items to be in by 14th December to be ready to be included in the hampers and distributed throughout the community.
