Principal's Report

Our raffle has continued to gain momentum this week with over 5000 tickets sold!  Many thanks to the families, businesses and community members who have put their support behind the raffle.  We are deeply appreciative!

On Tuesday, students in Year 5/6 headed off on camp for three days. By all accounts, the camp has been a fantastic experience and our students have had a great time participating in a range of activities.  We look forward to hearing more about their experience when they return.  Many thanks again to Vicky, Melanie, Michelle and our volunteers Damian, Duane, Jim and Jarrod for giving their time to assist with this camp.

Next week, students in Year 3/4 will also have an opportunity to participate in a range of outdoor challenges and activities, when they attend an overnight camp at Howman’s Gap from Thursday 25th - Friday 26th November.  Many thanks to Joel for his organisation and to all attending staff and volunteers for their support in providing this opportunity for our students.

We will have a Pupil Free Day 29th November, while staff undertake reporting.  OSHC will be running for those families who require this support and bookings are essential.

Transition for the 2022 Preps commenced this week with students visiting on Tuesday and Thursday as part of their Kinder program.  The children will visit again next week with the Kinder, before participating in their first formal transition day from 9-10.30am on Monday 29th November (Pupil Free Day).

Parent teacher interviews will be held next week from Monday 22nd – Wednesday 24th November.  If you haven’t already done so, please refer to the guide in this newsletter to assist you with booking.  If you are unable to make one of these times and have not already spoken with your child’s teacher, please contact them to arrange an alternate time.

Our Swimming program will commence on Tuesday 30th March. Please see the swimming page for details about the schedule.

Many thanks also to Emily and congratulations to the 3-6 on their performance last week.  This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase student learning in music and we appreciate the effort made by families to attend.   Many thanks also to Heather for her video production of the performance.  This can be viewed on the Music page of this newsletter.

Concerns have once again been raised about congestion and child safety in the staff carpark.  Parents are asked to asked to please assist in keeping our children safe, by avoiding using this carpark for drop-off and pick-up.

Band lessons and rehearsals will resume next week.  Please refer to the band page for more information.

As previously announced, we had a great response to fundraising for this year's Jump Rope for Heart.  After much anticipation, the student prizes have now arrived and Steph will present these at tomorrow's assembly.

We have a number of students with outstanding unexplained absences and unexplained late notices.  Please ensure you have provided a reason for any absence/late arrival by the 25th November.

Feedback is being sought regarding the draft Alpine Shire Sport and Active Recreation plan. More information regarding the plan and how to submit a response can be found on the Alpine Shire page of this newsletter.
