Principal's News

Carmel Stutterd

Good afternoon families,

Thank you so much for all the understanding and support you have shown myself and the admin staff as we continually go through COVID rule changes. The added issue of phone trouble has also been a challenge for both school and parents in trying to connect and communicate.

Once again thank you for your patience.

I apologise for the changes of dates for the Beach Swimming program but Mentone Aquatic Centre are having great difficulties in staffing these 2 days.  They  asked if we could move them to the following week when they would have more staff available.

This weekend is the start of Advent.

The season of Advent a time of inner conversation, prayer and formation as we listen deeply to the whisper of the Holy Spirit and to each other. As we answer the 'continuous call to hope' during Advent and usher in a new Church year, we pray that we can also walk, in a truly Australian way with the vulnerable and forsaken, including the earth.

Congratulations to our Grade 3 students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week. Father Andrew, Mrs Douglas and the Grade 3 teachers supported the students and each ceremony was beautiful.

It was fantastic to see two of our Grade 5 classes going off to camp on Wednesday. It gave us some sense of normality.

We have another day of prep 2022 transition and it was lovely to see their excited faces when visiting the garden.

Swimming starts next week and the P-2 students are very excited.

School closure day Monday 6 December

We are very excited to welcome Rob Vingerhoets to our school on Monday the 6th of December to work with our staff in the area of Mathematics. The theme of the day is 'Connecting Up the Maths.' Rob will provide us with direction in planning for 2022 and provide us with practical ways to develop important Mathematical concepts.

Enjoy your weekend
