Our Year 11 students travelled to Lakewood Park this week for their study camp to prepare for Year 12 in 2022.
Despite the weather, the students and staff have had the opportunity to participate in many 'fun' activities including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and cooking with camp ovens. Students also enjoyed yoga with an amazing view.
Students have also participated in number of study sessions including Chemistry, English and Biology. Zack from Elevate presented a workshop on Study Sensei which the students thoroughly enjoyed and received many handy study tips for 2022.
Last night the Year 11 students had their formal evening. The night was a huge success with lots of signing and dancing.

VCAL Luncheon
Intermediate VCAL students catered for a special luncheon for all Senior VCAL students and staff. Students who gained apprenticeships or traineeships during the year were also invited to the luncheon.
2020 VCAL Senior Excellence Award recipients Amity Jones and Ethan Hubbard.
Due to COVID restrictions Amity and Ethan have been unable to collect their awards from last year. They were finally presented with them at the VCAL Luncheon.
Amity Jones - “After graduating in 2020 I was keen to start a career working with animals, when I finished my Certificate II in Animal studies at TAFE I started a traineeship at Playful Paws to be a dog trainer. I'm also waitressing to earn some extra money.”
Ethan Hubbard - ”Where am I now?….Well I’m a Youth Engagement Worker for Aboriginal Youth and have been there for the last 6 months. I help youth that are struggling with school or with personal issues, I assist them and encourage them to be stronger and have confidence in themselves. I do activities with them over the holidays, like visiting Aboriginal Heritage sites or taking them to Coonawarra or other fun places for Activities. I really enjoy what I do for my community.
Catering
Graduation dessert was supplied by Intermediate VCAL students, who spent a long Thursday morning making approximately 600 truffle balls.
On Thursday 18th November our Year 12 students celebrated the end of 2021. Our graduation evening was again impacted by COVID, but it did not damper the spirits of our our amazing Year 12 students and a great night was had by all.
Unfortunately the number of people that were able to attend the evening was limited, but our families were able to see their students graduate as the evening was livestreamed. This enabled family and friends of our graduating students from all over the world to enjoy the celebrations.
