Year 7

WHAT A YEAR!

In what have been two of the most challenging years in recent memory our Year 7 students have done a great job of showing the school values of Resilience, Respect and Responsibility. 

The transition to Secondary School is challenging and for this reason we would usually run an extensive transition program. Unfortunately this program was the first thing that COVID cancelled for our current Year 7 students. No matter though as the year started smoothly. As the year progressed we had more cancellations, lockdowns and disruptions. However some of the opportunities that have come up through the year have had a positive impact. 

Camp at the Summit was great with 143 Year 7 students having an absolute ball and testing their limits. The music program has been a shining light of positivity throughout the year and our learning in classes and online has been a testament to the positive attitudes of both staff and students.

It has been frustrating at times but overall it has been great to see our students grow and adapt throughout the year. The Year 7 Hub would like to congratulate our 2021 Year 7 students on their efforts throughout the year. We wish you the best of luck for 2022 on your journey as Year 8 students.

Some final thoughts.

• Please clean out your lockers and get rid of any food. Your sandwiches aren't as appetizing in January, the year after you made them
• The same can be said of your bags
• Thank Lisa. She's awesome and does most of the work
• Have a crack at Headstart (transition). This will set you up for success in 2022
• Always try to be kind. It costs nothing
• Good luck and have fun!
