Principal's Message

Good afternoon and welcome to a rainy and cold day! 😊

Ā

Well haven’t we had an interesting week. At the beginning of the week I certainly didn’t have on my radar closing the school for a day! The COVID positive case was truthfully bound to happen at some stage and given our size, I’m surprised that it hasn’t happened earlier. The pleasing aspect of the event is that all our processes worked, our communication was effective and we even managed to get a 'Pop Up testing clinic!' So, again, we will cross our fingers that we don’t have to work our way through another event.

Ā

I must say thank you to the whole community for your support, patience and understanding when we have been dealing with difficult circumstances that are out of our control. Plus, a thank you to the staff who pitched in to make things happen at a moments notice. In particular the Assistant Principals who all worked late into the night with the utmost professionalism. Thank you.

Ā

As we are creeping toward the end of the year, we are now busy finishing up details and finalising the plans for 2022.

Ā

On Wednesday the 'new' Year 12 students left for a 3 days study camp at the Lakewood Park Camp. The camp has been a massive success, with a mix of study and some 'fun stuff' too.Ā

Elevate session - Study Sensei
Yoga - learning the art of relaxation. Amazing view!

The goals of the camp centre around ensuring each student is well set for the year ahead, setting personal goals, time management, that they are crystal clear on the expectations for work over the Christmas break and that they realise their final year of school has already begin, without a moment to waste.

Ā

Thanks again to the Senior Hub staff for putting together such an outstanding program, driven by academic rigour and high expectations.Ā

Ā

At the other end of the school we have had a number of our primary schools visiting to start the transition to secondary process. Their eyes are wide and a little nervous (totally understandable) but they are all excited about coming on board in 2022.Ā

Ā

The 'middle child' hasn’t been forgotten! The transition process for each year level begins on Monday. This is where all students effectively move into their new classes and subjects. Today saw the physical shift of lockers to new locations and for the 2022 Year 10 students they said goodbye to the 8/9 hub and they moved to the senior building! As we hit week 9, we move up a gear and maximise the days at school, all the way through until the end.
