Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Families and Community members,

Final Newsletter for 2021!

We made it! Looking back on what has happened across the year it is amazing to see how far we've come, what we have achieved and how much we have all grown and learnt.

Whether it be the disruptions of Lockdowns and Remote Learning, the excitement of being able to go on camps and excursions, the many academic, personal and social achievements, or becoming a 'Multi-Award Winning School'!!! It's been a great year.

Thank you to our entire school community for your amazing support which has ensured our students learning and wellbeing were always placed at the centre of all we do.

I wish you all a fantastic holiday and Christmas period and on behalf of the ACS staff, we can't wait to see you all back for the 2022 school year!

Grade 6 Graduation

On Tuesday we held our grade 6 graduation here at school. We started the evening by inviting families into the school to have a picnic dinner as well as some fun games and activities  for everyone to play.

Once we all finished dinner, we moved across to the hall and held our ceremony where students were presented with a graduation gift and presented awards.

Congratulations to all of our graduating class of 2021, we are so proud of all that you have achieved and are so excited to send you off to this next stage of your life. All the very best.

Secondary Christmas Stall

On Wednesday, the Secondary students ended the year with their annual Christmas Stall.  The students participated in an Enterprise Program throughout Term 4 and learned all about making products, budgeting, advertising and selling products.

Students invited their families and our school staff to purchase their wares which included Christmas items, slices, coffees and hot chocolates.

Thank you to all of the people that attended.  Happy Christmas everyone!

Semester 2 Reports

Please be aware that all Semester 2 reports were uploaded onto Compass on Wednesday at 3:30 PM.

If your child/children are leaving ACS this year, please make sure you download their report and save it as your Compass account for that child will be removed and you will no longer be able to access this.

Virtual Art Show

Last Thursday was the opening night of our 2021 Virtual Artsfest.

Students and teachers combined shared their creative efforts and have really allowed their creativity to shine.

Artworks included Japanese Cherry Blossoms, Big Wave Riders, Alcohol Ink abstract paintings and even Pete Cromer inspired animal collages.

The 2021 Artsfest is the culmination of 12 months hard work with  many interruptions. The students should all be VERY proud of the hard work and creativity they have displayed.

A massive thanks to our wonderful Arts team led by Leanne and Sam for making this all come to life (in the virtual world)!

Enjoy!

Creek Coin Reward

The ACS Creek Coin system is used to reinforce the positive and expected behaviours we want to see displayed by all of our school community. Students earn and collect these coins throughout the year and have the opportunity to 'cash' these in for various tangible and non-tangible rewards.

One of our students has chosen to redeem their 50 creek coins for his name to be included in the newsletter!

Congratulations to Max J who has upheld our school value of care throughout this term by always showing great kindness and looking out for his friends and peers.

This week the Secondary students have cashed in their Creek Coins for the final time this year. There were over 2000 creek coins cashed in by the secondary community this term!

Riley (Year 9) had saved up his Creek Coins and cashed in 354. He will enjoy several experiences for showing the school values of Care, Collaboration and Commitment this year. It was great to be able to congratulate Riley in person.

We also had a bunch of very excited Grade Prep-2 students who chose to cash in their Creek Coins for a morning tea with me. With so many choosing this reward, we gathered in the Staff Lounge and ate pancakes that Nicole and I cooked for the students.

I think it is fair to say that these special morning teas are one of the biggest highlights of any term.

Take care and enjoy!
