Principal's Report

Dear Families,

UNVEILING OF WAR MEMORIAL

Last Thursday our School Leaders were privileged to attend the unveiling of the War Memorial at the hall. Major Kim O’Keefe was eager to meet our school captains and share the special occasion with them

COLOUR FUN

Tuesday’s Colour Run was very exciting. Our House Captains designed an obstacle course for the students to negotiate. Colour stations were manned by very enthusiastic teachers whose mission was to squirt as much colour on the students as possible. A great deal of fun was had by all. We were blown away by the amount of money raised by students. I am certain that students now and for years to come, will benefit from the generosity of sponsors.

RETURN TO 3.15 DISMISSALL

As of next week, we will return to 3.15pm dismissal for all students.

GRADE 1 &2 TEA & SLEEP OVER

Happily, our Grade 1 Tea and Sleepover for the Grade 2 students can go ahead. This will be held on Thursday 9th December. Further details will follow next week.

BUSINESS MANAGER

This week we have put online an advertisement for a Business Manager for 2022. Jenny Davey is taking some well-deserved Long Service Leave.

GRADE 3-6 CAMP

Next Wednesday morning the students will take off for Healesville. It is fantastic that they will have this opportunity to participate in the range of activities offered at the camp. Many thanks to the teachers who have volunteered to go.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR PARENTS, CARERS AND OTHER VISITORS NOT PERFORMING WORK

Parents, carers and other adults who enter school buildings must have had at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and must have had two doses of COVID-19 vaccine by Monday 29 November 2021 or a valid medical exception. The following limited exceptions apply:

  • when attending to administer medical treatment to their own child when the treatment cannot be administered by the school
  • when attending to collect their child who is unwell and cannot leave the school building unaccompanied by their parent/carer
  • when attending for a short time that does not involve any sustained contact with staff or students, for example, to collect a completed art project or similar.

This vaccination requirement applies to all school activities inside school buildings, including but not limited to, kindergarten transition activities, tours, graduations, fetes and school theatre and music production.

Any adults attending these events, regardless of whether they are held indoors or outdoors, must be vaccinated, in line with community requirements.

Refer to the COVID-19 Vaccinations – visitors and volunteers on school sites for more information.

COLLECTING VACCINE INFORMATION FROM VISITORS AND VOLUNTEERS WORKING AT SCHOOLS

Under the updated policy, schools are no longer obligated to collect and hold copies of vaccination certificates, provided they record details of the sighted vaccination information using a register that records:

  • the name of the worker or individual accessing the site
  • their vaccination status
  • the name of the staff member who sighted the evidence
  • the date the evidence was sighted
  • the nature of that evidence (for example, COVID-19 vaccine digital certificate, immunisation history statement, or medical exception letter or certificate).

MASKS

Please ensure that if your child is required to wear a mask at school, they have a few spares in their bag. Our supplies are very quickly diminishing.

Have a lovely week ahead.

Regards Heather
