Meet the Staff- Trish Townsend

What is your role at Concord School?

I am the Business Manager while Sam Browne is on leave.

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:

My day begins early while the school is quiet (hard to believe, isn’t it?). I make my coffee and unlock the Administration area. I throw away my to do list as I know that I would be very lucky to tick one off. Then we just go with the flow.  After checking the relevant budgets I approve purchase orders and process HR paperwork. I work on grants, facilities and OHS. I enjoy working with our amazing admin team to support our amazing teaching staff.

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

The staff without a doubt. They have made me feel extremely welcome and wanted.

Favourite Food:

Too many to mention (but I can be bribed with Cherry Ripes)

Favourite Movie/TV Show:

The Project, La Brea and Murder Mysteries

Favourite music:

80’s and 90’s

Things I dislike the most:

Not getting prior approval (ie approved Purchase Order) before spending the money (ie receiving the invoice).  LOL – did you expect anything else???

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You:

I have a pilot’s license and I am a retired Air Traffic Controller.

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete:  Ash Barty

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why?

Colin Fassnidge (as we would need a chef (I can’t cook) and I love his accent)

Sully Sullenberger (as his history and experience would be very interesting to me)

Michelle Obama (as she would bring very inside information stories)

There are heaps more so I would have to have at least  9 guests

Churchill, Mother Theresa, Julia Gilliard, David Koch, Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Newsletter: Term 1, Friday 25 March 2022

Dear Parents/ Guardians and staff,

The last fortnight at OSHC has comprised many and varied activities. The theme was ‘Recycling and Sustainability’ and in keeping with the theme children decorated recycling containers, planted and watered plants and watched a short documentary about recycling. Children also participated in an OSHC picnic on Wednesday 16 March and enjoyed fruit and fairy bread on picnic rugs; followed by party games such as ‘Pin the Nose on the Clown’ and musical statues. In addition to the aforementioned – children have played group games such as UNO, and poison ball, and children created their own footy jerseys. Older children enjoyed constructing an NRL ladder and fixture to complement our existing AFL displays in the oshc room

Kind Regards,

TheirCare Team at Concord/ Watsonia TheirCare OSHC
