Year 6 Camp Coolamatong 4 Day Camp

 

We view the list of what your child needs to bring to camp next week below. We ask all parents to ensure your child’s initials or name is labelled on all items packed for camp. A single fitted sheet is important for all students to bring to this camp as it is a COVID Safe requirement of the campsite.

Please start to bring in all medication that you have listed for your child/ren on the Operoo form. Your son or daughter can hand this medication to your child’s classroom teacher during this week unless they require to have this medication over the weekend.

WHAT TO BRING

FOOD ITEMS TO BE PACKED IN A SMALL BACKPACK OR PLASTIC BAG

  • Packed morning tea & lunch (for the first day of camp)*
  • A drink bottled filled with water 

*No Food products with NUTS are to be packed

Please pack only the food they require to sustain themselves. All food left over from their snack and lunch will be discarded after the first day’s lunch.

 

WHAT TO BRING / PACK IN A MEDIUM SIZED SUITCASE

SLEEPING ITEMS:

  • Sleeping bag
  • Loose Bed Sheet (fitted single sheet to cover the single bed - THIS IS A COVID SAFE REQUIREMENT OF THE CAMP AND MUST BE PACKED)
  • Pillow in a pillowcase
  • Night light if you wish to have one (please contact your child's classroom teacher regarding this)

CLOTHING:

  • 5 t-shirts 
  • 4 pairs of shorts 
  • 2-3 pairs of pants
  • 5-7 pairs of socks 
  • 4-6 changes of underwear 
  • Face mask (to be worn on the bus journey and in enclosed spaces while on the campsite)
  • Rash vest or long sleeve shirt (this will be helpful to wear while students partake in water based activities)
  • Wetsuit (wetsuits will be provided for water based activities by the campsite but if your child owns their own they may feel more comfortable to wear it)
  • At least 2 warm jumpers (pack as necessary for evening activities or a change of weather)
  • 2 pairs of pyjamas 
  • Pillow
  • Single bed fitted sheet
  • Sleeping bag
  • Toiletries
  • 1-2 pairs of running shoes for land based activities
  • 1-2 pairs of old closed toe shoes for water based activities
  • Hat 
  • Moccasins or slippers (for cabin use only)
  • 1 waterproof parka or jacket (optional)

TOILETRIES:

  • 2-3 Towels (2 for water based activities and 1 for showering) 
  • Soap
  • Shampoo, conditioner if necessary
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Roll on deodorant only
  • Thongs (optional for shower)
  • Hairbrush (optional – no hair dryers, the teachers will supply if necessary)

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS:

  • SPF 30+ Sunscreen
  • Regular Medication (to be handed only to the teacher and administered by your child’s classroom teacher 
  • 3-4 Plastic or Garbage Bags for dirty clothes and shoes
  • Torch 
  • Insect repellent (roll on)
  • Reading Book, Cards (optional for the bus trip)

No lollies are to be taken on the camp or packed in any luggage

Phones: students are not permitted to bring mobile phones, mobile cameras, IPods or hand held games. If students have any of these valuables it will be collected from them and returned following the camp. This includes phones that don’t have a SIM card.
