Every Minute Counts
School Attendance
We all want our students to get a great education, and the building blocks for a great education begin with students coming to school each and every day on time. Our school day begins at 8:45am. The first 15 minutes of the school day is an important time for students to get organised, be prepared and connect with peers and teachers. Students that miss this time can often feel unsettled and this can impact their learning time.
This might be a great opportunity to talk to your child about ways they organise themselves ready for learning. What are some strategies that they could also use at home to get ready for school?
For example
- Ensure that a regular bedtime routine is established on school nights
- Pack a school bag the night before
- Have their school uniform ready
- Prepare the lunchbox the night before or plan time in the morning
- Limit distractions such as TV or devices
- Make of list of tasks to complete before leaving the house
If you need further support or ideas, please contact your classroom teacher.
