Presentation Families

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 30 March at 5.30pm in the Learning Hub. You are very welcome to attend and explore opportunities to increase parent/carer involvement at the College.

Presentation Families is a re-imagined version of the traditional Parents and Friends’ model, and is St Mary’s College’s new way of building community. It comprises a group of parents and carers supporting the College in the goal of making St Mary’s College a place of welcome.

Presentation Families is not a fundraising body and rather focuses on ‘friend-raising’ and enacting the Presentation touchstones of hospitality and compassion and including all.

It focuses on events and initiatives that build community connection and spirit.

SMC representation

Over the last few weeks, we have had a number of teams out and about competing for St Mary's. In particular, our Junior and Senior swimming teams have competed for the College in both the SSATIS carnivals.

Our rowers, pictured below, competed in the Tasmanian All Schools Championships last weekend and will have their final regatta at the Head of the River on Saturday 26 March. Our results were great to see, and we wish our crews well for Saturday.

COVID-19 update

Our COVID-19 situation continues to be very fluid with several classes reaching outbreak stage in recent weeks. We have conducted one-off sweeps in both the Junior School and across Year 9, which have resulted in minimal positive cases. Currently, we are experiencing a number of cases in the Junior and Senior Schools.

As we manage our response to this pandemic, we continue to work closely with Tasmania Public Health and Catholic Education Tasmania.
