The Principal's Pen

One of the features of the start of the year is students completing some form of testing. Our junior Primary students are involved in individual testing sessions with their teachers and the older students take part in literacy and numeracy tests. It may seem strange to start the year with tests, but that's the point. The information from these tests provides and annual starting point for each child, assisting our staff to plan their learning programs and giving the College a good indication of each student's progress in each year.

Testing circumstances in our lives can be viewed in a similar way. Do we approach these trying times in our lives with a plan to move forward, learning about ourselves along the way? Can we see progress in how we react to situations and people around us? We want to see the development of our students' character, so we're applying this to them. Can we apply it to ourselves, as adults, as well?
