Year 6 Concert

Thursday December 1st we were entertained by the 2022 Year 6 cohort as they presented their Year 6 Showcase to their families in the school hall. It was a new experience for us all after the last few years of the pandemic. Everyone appreciated the considered approach which enabled us all to come together and celebrate this year’s graduating class’s talents.

Over their last 7 years at primary school the year 6s have been under the expert guidance of our music teacher Susan Digby. Susan has delivered a broad program, encompassing the playing of musical instruments, reading music and notation, singing, dancing, acting and building an appreciation for Music and the Performing Arts. The 5 plays we watched the students perform as well as the two musical acts, really highlighted the inclusion of all our students working together and supporting each other regardless of strengths and abilities. Thank you for all working as a team and encouraging each other Year 6.

Thank you also to a number of staff members who stayed to applaud our performers, especially our year 6 teachers Mr Packham and Miss Boucher. We look forward to the Y6 Graduation on 15th Dec.

We are looking forward to…

We are all looking forward to a number of special events which are getting closer in the coming weeks:

  • Monday 5th Dec, School Captain Speeches and voting from students Y4-6
  • Dec 6th, 9.15-10.30am the final transition activity for the 2023 Foundation students and their buddies “I am ready for school now!”
  • Dec 7th Salvation Army hamper donations from each student of packaged food and/or decorations. Students wear festive celebration clothing.
  • The YF-4 Concert, Groovin’ on the Grass will be taking place on Friday December 9th from 3.30-5pm. The concert will be held outdoors on our oval. Parents should bring a picnic rug to sit on and snacks to enjoy. Each of the F-4 year levels will perform an item. Our School Leaders will host the event and it will be a great opportunity for them to display their public speaking skills in front of a large crowd. Come one come all, and groove with us!
  • Dec 8th, year 6 Big Day Out to Luna Park to celebrate 7 years of schooling!
  • The Y6 Graduation, Thursday 15th December on the oval 4-5pm. Other celebration arrangements following – Y6 families refer to Graduation Committee communication.

WOW! School is an exciting place to be right now! Thanks to all the staff for the terrific space you create for our students.

December Hamper Food Donation – Salvation Army

Once again, this year we are joining with the Salvos to help provide Christmas hampers to families in need within our community. To have these hampers delivered in time for Christmas we are calling for food donations and items used for celebration to fill these hampers. Donations can be left at the office up until Dec 7th.

Students will enjoy a dress up day on Wednesday 7th December, 2022; dressing up as something from their favourite celebration (or in green and read). Instead of a gold coin, everyone will donate an item of non-perishable food that could be put into a hamper.

The Salvation Army will attend CEPS on December 9th at the start of Groovin on the Grass to accept our generous donations. Thank you in advance for your support of this worthy cause.

Foundation Excursion

Thursday Dec 1 was a very exciting day for our Foundation students and teachers as they enjoyed the highlight of the year – an excursion to Myuna Farm. Our thanks goes to all of the helpers on the day who assisted to make it such a wonderful experience for our youngest students. The children loved feeding the ducks, petting the guinea pigs, chooks and rabbits. The ponies were a huge hit and the camels… bumpy! Organising and managing the day is a big task and we congratulate our Foundation Team for the super job they do. Thank you, team!
