Prep

Dear Prep families,

It is hard to believe that this will be the last newsletter I write for the 2022 Preps! What an incredible year it has been for everyone. I have been privileged to teach your child and get to know their personalities. I am proud of the resilience, enthusiasm and love for learning the Preps have demonstrated throughout the year. Thank you for supporting your child at home with their home learning activities and encouraging them to participate actively in our class and school community.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. Enjoy spending time with your family and friends.

Warm regards,

Miss Melanie

This week was very exciting for the Preps. They were jumping out of their skins in anticipation as we watched the fencing around the new playground come down. Finally, the moment arrived Mr Steve gave us the all-clear to play on the new playground. The Preps were out and onto the equipment as soon as the door opened. Some were climbing, sliding, running, crawling and digging. After playing on the playground, the students drew pictures of their favourite part of the playground and wrote a sentence about their experience.

The students have been listening to different Fairytales in Inquiry and Literacy this term. During Inquiry, the Preps chose 5 Fairy tales and worked in small groups to design and create puppets and theatres to retell their version of their chosen Fairytale. Through this experience, they had opportunities to reflect on what it means to be creative and work collaboratively with each other, listening and working together to achieve a common goal. This week, the Preps had the opportunity to retell their Fairytale. It was wonderful to hear the different versions of the stories and the incredible detail and teamwork in each theatre.
