You Can Do It! Program

You Can Do It! Education

This term, students in 2/3 Warthogs have been participating in lessons from the You Can Do It! Education program. This is a social-emotional learning program that maximises success, positive relationships and wellbeing.

Lessons focus on the five keys to success – resilience, persistence, getting along, confidence and organisation.

Students engage in weekly lessons, breaking down these keys and providing them with tools and strategies to set personal and learning goals, manage stressful situations, enhance relationships and build their capacity to be persistent and resilient, both at school and in everyday situations.

The lessons are fun, interactive and purposeful, as well as providing opportunities for students to revisit and reinforce prior learning. With differentiated lessons for each year group, students will continue to build on their knowledge and understanding of being successful and cooperative students throughout their primary education.

The program provides a common language for all students and gives them the tools to discuss and seek assistance in times of challenge.

Students in 2/3 Warthogs had a fantastic time learning the art of developing persistence by building card towers this term. They managed their disappointments, developed strategies, celebrated each others’ successes and, most importantly, didn’t give up in the pursuit of card tower perfection!
